About

Built to hear India speak

askingIndia is a video survey platform for the Indian market. A company sends a link or a QR code, people answer on their own phone in their own language, and the answers come back transcribed and sorted by theme.

Who we are

For most people in India, English is not the language they think in. We built askingIndia so that people can answer out loud, in the language they are most at home in, and so that the companies asking can hear every word.

Mission and vision

Research that includes everyone

Our mission

To make it simple for any company in India to hear its customers in their own words and their own language, and to act on what it hears.

Our vision

Consumer research in India that includes everyone who can speak, not only those who can fill in a form in English.

What we stand for

Four rules we build by

Our story

We turned the survey the other way round

askingIndia began with a simple problem. The people a company most needs to hear from are often the least likely to fill in a form, and a typed survey in English asks them to write, in a language that may not be their own, about something they felt in the moment.

So we turned it round. People answer out loud, on the phone already in their hand, in the language they are most comfortable in, and the work of transcribing and sorting what they said moves to our side.

Each answer is transcribed in the language it was spoken, tagged with themes and sentiment, and ready to read within minutes.

We would rather tell you exactly what the product does than promise what it might. If anything on this site is not true of the product you use, tell us and we will change it.
