Video Surveys

Open questions, answered on camera

A video survey asks a few open questions and lets people answer by recording themselves on their phone. You get what a typed answer can’t hold: the reason, the tone, the example, transcribed and sorted by theme.

What is a video survey

A short conversation, recorded on their own phone

You write a few open questions. People open your link or scan your QR code, agree to be recorded, and answer each question on camera, for up to three minutes. There is nothing to install and no account to create.

Questions can also be answered by typing, by choosing from a list or on a scale, in the same survey or on their own. A survey with no recorded question never asks for a camera.

Key features

Everything between question and finding

Use cases

For questions that need a reason

Brand perception, customer experience and satisfaction, product trials, events. Wherever a score tells you what happened and you need to hear why, a short video answer does the work of an interview.

Benefits

Depth without the interview schedule

An interview gives you one person's reasons at a time. A video survey collects them from many people at once, each in their own time and their own language, and they arrive transcribed and sorted by theme.

FAQ

What people ask first

Do respondents need to download an app?

No. The survey opens in the phone’s browser from a link or a QR code. They enter a few details, give their consent, and answer each question: on camera, or by typing or choosing where the question asks for it.

Can people answer by typing?

Yes. A question can ask for a typed answer, a choice, a point on a scale, or a number, date or time, alongside recorded questions or on its own. A survey with no recorded question never asks for a camera. Typed answers are kept exactly as written: nothing is transcribed or translated.

Which languages can people answer in?

Any of 23: the 22 languages of the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution, and English. Each answer is transcribed in the language it was spoken. We do not translate answers.

How soon can I see the results?

Each recording is transcribed and analysed within minutes of being uploaded, and the survey’s overview updates as answers are analysed. You don’t have to wait for the survey to close.

Can I download the results?

Yes. Export the responses as a spreadsheet, CSV or Excel, with each transcript and every answer, of whatever your filters show.

Can I set when a survey opens and closes?

Yes. Set the times it opens and closes, in India time, or close it yourself whenever you like and reopen it later. With no opening time, it opens when you publish. Anyone already part-way through when it closes can still finish.

Do I have to start from scratch?

No. Start from one of the templates we offer, and you get your own copy to edit.

Can I limit a survey to particular people?

Yes. Turn on list-only, and only people whose mobile number is on the survey’s list can start it. It checks the number they type; it doesn’t prove who they are.

What happens to the recordings?

Recordings are kept in private storage and played through links that stop working after a few minutes. You can download them, share one through a link that expires after a day, three days or a week, and delete them at any time. Each respondent’s consent is stored with the exact wording they agreed to.

How is it priced?

By analysed responses: ₹500 each for orders of up to 100, ₹450 each for orders of 101 to 500, and a quote above that. A response counts only once it has been analysed, so one that fails entirely costs nothing. Every response counts as one, whatever its questions, and you can run as many surveys and QR codes as you like. Prices exclude GST.
