Consent before the camera: getting it right
askingIndia

Asking someone to record themselves is asking for something personal: their face, their voice, and often their home in the background. They should know what they are agreeing to before the camera turns on, not after.
What people should know first
- Who is asking, by name.
- What the recording is for.
- Who will see it.
- That they can stop at any point.
How askingIndia handles it
Before the camera starts, each person sees a consent screen and has to agree to it. The camera is not requested until they do. What they agreed to is stored with its exact wording and the time they agreed, so you can show later precisely what each person was told.
